HAMILTON โ Authorities arrested two women on prostitution charges at spas on Nottingham Way and Whitehorse-Mercerville Road last week, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said.
Undercover officers were allegedly solicited for sex by women working at both establishments during an investigation by the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force, which the prosecutor's office said was initiated by citizen complaints.
The investigation ended last Wednesday with officers executing search warrants at both spas, where officers seized $4,329 in cash in addition to the arrests, the office said in a statement.
On March 9, at 5:45 p.m., officers entered the New Spa, at 2531 Nottingham Way, and arrested Dong Zhang, 51, of Hamilton. She is charged with engaging in prostitution.
At the Blue Spa, at 2382 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., task force officers arrested Honglian Zhang, 51, of Little Neck, N.Y., who is also charged with engaging in prostitution.
Assisting the task force were officers from the Hamilton police, Trenton police, the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, the New Jersey State Police and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Prosecutor's Sgt. James Francis led the investigation.
Engaging in prostitution is a disorderly persons offense and both women were released following their arrests pending future court appearances, the prosecutor's office said.
