about B&S and their website

I came across an interesting thread about the B&S website...thought I'd respond and put it in a new post so that it could get the max views...

Okay...I used to be a B&S regular...I loved it there. Great service, great price. But since the decline of their website..I've found myself not wanting to go anymore..primarily because the picutres aren't there. I guess I'm a visual person...so no pics...no motivation to go. I always went to see the same 2 people...but without the pictures...I just don't get the UMPH to go.

But as for what people are saying about LE and other things as for the reason of the downfall of the site:

1. I don't understand why B&S would be targeted by LE. They're licensed, totally legit and DO NOT conduct illegal activities there. So why would LE be so concerned? There are so many other establishments around that are not licensed that should get more attention.

2. Even if LE was pursuing them...why would they pressure B&S to take away their website. It's a normal website...not unlike anyone elses in my point of view.

3. Designing a proper website (i.e. one that is not templated) can take a while. It depends on how nice or complicated it's going to be. If it took Kayla 6 hours to redo the IT site...I'm impressed it could take more than 6 hours to just do a comp for a site. (a "comp" is basically the design/image/appearance of the site...this can take a while as it's really up to the client to approve the design and can take several re-do's).

4. The site may be done in flash..which can take some time as well. It's not as easy as an straight HTML site.

Anyhoo...this is just my 2 cents.

When it comes down to it...I would love to have the site back up. Damn I miss those pics.

But...if what you guys are saying is true...and LE is around the place often, boy am I glad I haven't been there. But again...why would they?? B&S is soooo clean and legit.

are counter productive. just the other day i was trying to view an escort site and it said i didn't have a the latest version of flash and i would have to download it. that's where my interest subsided and i moved on to another site.

let this be a lesson to anyone out there contracting someone to design a website for their business. don't let them make a visual wank that serves no other purpose than to make their design portfolio look good. all you need are some clean lines, smart design, pics of the ladies, pricing info, and location were applicable. save the flash for the mbusa site!
