Co-founder of Suwanee-based massage school honored
The co-founder of a massage school based in Suwanee recently received the 2013 Teacher of the Year award from the American Massage Therapy Association at its national convention in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Rick Garbowski is co-founder of Georgia Massage School. According to a news release, the award is presented to a massage therapy instructor who is committed to high standards of education and displays extraordinary teaching abilities.
In 2007, Laurie Craig, co-owner of Georgia Massage School, also received the Teacher of the Year award, making Georgia Massage School the only school in the nation to employ two recipients of this award.
In addition to the AMTA award, Garbowski received the President’s Award this year from the Florida State Massage Therapy Association for his exceptional service in massage therapy education.
Real estate pre-licensing courses to be offered in Gwinnett
Beginning Oct. 14, the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers and the Metro Brokers Academy of Real Estate will begin offering real estate pre-licensing courses in Gwinnett County.
The course will fun for four weeks.

Sporting goods store joins Titan Team Sports
Bulldog Sporting Goods has joined the Titan Team Sports organization as an affiliate. The Athens-based store has served the community’s sports and uniform needs since 1968.
Longtime Bulldog Sporting Goods owner Woody Chastain will continue to lead the store with the support of Titan Team Sports.
