Call 12 for Action solved a massage contract issue for a consumer.
As a consumer, sometimes it’s hard to get companies to listen, especially when you have a complaint.
Call 12 for Action is here to help, like we did for a Phoenix woman frustrated that a popular massage chain signed her up for a monthly contract she didn’t ask for.
“She was very unhappy that she was charged for a contract that she didn’t intend to use and for services that she didn’t receive,” said Patrick, the Call 12 for Action volunteer investigator who helped with her case.
If you have a consumer complaint, Call 12 for Action. Our volunteer investigators are available to take your call Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at 1-800-260-1212 or 602-260-1212. You can also file your complaint online.
Our team got the company to erase the charges and the contract, saving her $324.
In another case, a Mesa woman canceled the lease on her apartment and paid the last month’s rent. She even had the receipt showing a zero balance.
But, she found herself stuck with a big bill after moving.
“About a month later, she got a collection notice, showing she owed the last month’s rent plus a $1,500 termination fee,” said Roy, the Call 12 for Action volunteer investigator who resolved the issue.
This situation is great reminder to all of us to keep receipts. That’s what our team used to get the apartment complex to erase the extra charges, saving the consumer $1,500.
In another apartment case this week, Call 12 mediated a situation that kept a Scottsdale consumer from having to move out and being hit with an assortment of moving charges, including lease termination. We saved him $2,500.
It’s another reminder about how to deal with complaints to the landlord or property manager.
“Put it in writing and make sure you send it to the proper person or persons and if you talk to them, always be courteous and just say you want help,” said Maury, the Call 12 for Action volunteer investigator who assisted in the case.
If you’re still not getting the issue resolved, there’s another call you can make.
“Call the company and if they’re unwilling to help you, Call 12 for Action,” said Roy.
