It is that kind of spa, says the de Blasio administration.
The city on Tuesday filed suit against Koreatown’s Spa Sol, claiming the rubdown joint is a poorly masked sex den that offers a much seedier variety of massage therapy.
The lawsuit, which asks a judge to order the business be shut down, says four undercover officers who have visited the establishment since October were offered “manual stimulation” for $40 to $80 a pop.
The officers also came across patrons who admitted to coughing up more dough for a little extra attention, the documents say.
During a Nov. 21 raid, officers arrested a masseuse on prostitution charges and a john on charges of patronizing a prostitute.
“The opportunity for illegal activity and the consequential negative effect on the surrounding community still exists. Accordingly, a closing order is necessary to abate this serious public nuisance,” the lawsuit reads. Under the law, the de Blasio administration must ask a judge to shutter the property, as it is not able to unilaterally do so itself.
People who work in the neighborhood told The Post they were well aware of bawdy activity occurring inside Spa Sol, which Yelp says is open until 3 a.m.
“I’ve always heard it’s a sort-of sex place,” said a 25-year-old doorman at the nearby Empire State Building, though he declined to give his name. “Word gets around, you know?”
Another man who works in the iconic skyscraper but declined to give his name said he sees men streaming into the unassuming storefront with tinted windows.
“I take my cigarette break here everyday,” the 39-year-old said. “And I see a ton of guys going in there. Men, never women. They’re wearing business suits.”
The woman working the front desk inside Spa Sol denied the allegations, while pointing to an array of professional licenses hanging above reception.
“No. No. We don’t do nothing,” she said when asked if they offered off-menu services.
An owner for the property did not return a message.
