Claim insurance?

Want to hear your guys opinions on it, if you get a massage with extras, but you pay out of pocket for the extras, do you still claim the massage under insurance? Or do you guys only claim legit massages?

Technically it isn't insurance fraud? Not sure what the consensus out there is.

I keep my insurance claimable receipts limited to legit massages with therapists on the approved list. With online claim systems, if their name doesn’t pop up right away on the insurance claim webpage as an approved masseuse, why bother?

My overall annual massage spend is about 6 times higher than my insurance amount so it’s easy to only claim the 100% legit sessions. If I meet her outside of the shop at other times that is no one else’s business.

Either log into your benefits provider website and look for the approved rmt providers list or just call and ask them. And you can also find out what your total benefit is as well.

Loose lips sinks ships so best do not discuss any place that you can claim here. Best you go to places where massage is priority and seems legit. You can ask if they provide insurance receipt for RMT service during booking. Don't ask anymore details after that. Go to your appointment, hope you enjoy the massage and if anything else happens, keep it to yourself. Us members here are mostly not newbies and will find our way there eventually. We are veterans of the search now but we started our just like you.

Dangerous. I guess in theory if you never get "looked into" you would get away forever. Its like any tax fraud you got lost in the crowd. But if anyone checks youll get booked immediately. Ok if im going to be devil advocate I could imagine it being hard to detect if you go to places that are known to offer extra services but are also "legit". But doesn't insurance only cover LMT? so you would need a LMT extra service then....that be getting odd.

Real simple, there is absolutely no shortage of 100% legit massage services. More importantly you first need to check with your health insurance benefits (your plan whatever it might be) as to what massotherapy coverage you have. There is no universal coverage or freebies that I am aware of.. yet.. mind you, our country is headed to a system of freebie handouts to everyone with their beggar hat out while taxing those who actually work.

The point is there is no shortage of legit therapists that can provide you a claim receipt once you know what your health plan coverage looks like. Then ask the massage clinic if their receipts are honoured by your insurance company. Very simple.

And seriously, those people on these boards who try to cover their non-therapy stuff with insurance claims are just plain stupid. Good luck
