Why do clients go to massage shops, and independent therapists?
To Relax, To Rest, To Rejuvenate
To Get a Real Massage for tired muscles, and an aching body
To Enjoy a Mini Vacation, away from responsibilities and work
To Experience a Sense of Intimacy
To be Touched
To Seek Sex
To Escape
To be Adventurous again
To Fight Boredom
To Create new Friendships
To Talk, To Communicate...
...... the list goes on and on.
Most of us who go for massages will have various reasons at any one time, and the reasons will change with changes in life situations.
And masseuses and therapists come in all types, and will cater to various combinations of these human needs. Challenges develop when clients with certain needs want every therapist to respond to their specific needs. No therapist or masseuse can be "the answer" to every client's deep wishes. Clients need to think through this on their own, and move on until they find a good match. Sometimes it takes a few visits. But if the fit isn't right, have the courage to look elsewhere. Can't squeeze water from a stone. Or squeeze your desired services from the wrong masseuse.
On the other side of the services equation, be careful of some very clever masseuses. Yes, there are a few. Especially among the Asian ones. They know exactly how to engage the interests of aging, older white males, with reasonable size wallets. The play on intimacy is designed to create a web of infatuation. To make one feel as if one is 'more' special. These masseuses will work a plan with several 'chosen' targets, until they have handed over large sums of donations over several months. In the worst cases, some clients will have handed over much larger sums of monies (to help the masseuse overcome various personal challenges). Enough said. Wealthy women get defrauded by lovers on the internet, whereas some well off men lose a pile with some masseuses. Buyer beware, the emotional hooks are hard to cut off.
Massages are a great hobby, as long as clients are 'Aware'.
