Contact lens newbie advice?

I am getting contacts and had an hour at the opticians where I got soclose to getting the lenses in ans failed just near the very end.

I have another appointment in 3 days and I can touch my eye at home, well the white bit anyway for 1-3 seconds.
I couldn't do this at the opticians.

Has anyone got any advice for me? I had 2 people watching me in the opticians trying to help as well.

I feel like such a failure.
Now thinking back I think I would end up touching my eyelashes which is the worst for blinking.

Any advice would be appreciated!
