Elements Massage co-owner Nish Morgan said she became a licensed therapist during the COVID-19 pandemic and eventually quit her corporate job to pursue massage therapy.
Morgan said both she and her husband, Cam, were laid off from their jobs and were looking for something different.
“We were always into health and wellness,” Morgan said. “We wanted to do something no one could take away from us.”
Morgan and Cam took ownership of the Frisco Stonebriar Elements Massage on March 1, 2023. They later took over the Main Street location at the end of February 2024.
She said she and her husband got involved with Elements Massage when he applied for a part-time job. At the time, Morgan was working as a sports massage therapist, but the couple wanted to open their own facility.
What they offer
The business offers several types of massages including prenatal massage, deep tissue massage and Swedish massage.
Morgan said she used to be a yoga instructor and has incorporated that background into her massage table by adding stretching maneuvers into the massage.
The company’s culture is the most important aspect of the business because if employees are happy, they will work hard to ensure the clients are happy as well, Morgan said.
What’s special about it?
Elements also offers therapeutic massage, Morgan said, which can treat some conditions such as headaches or chronic pain.
Morgan said she was diagnosed with arthritis in her 20s and started seeing a massage therapist to manage the pain.
“I went for medical reasons and then I just noticed ... weekly or at least bi-weekly massage just was, not only physically helping me, but mentally and emotionally ... everything was better,” Morgan said.
