How a suburban CNY “massage” parlor openly sold sex: The Lilac Spa in Cicero billed itself as a massage parlor. But it wasn’t exactly a secret that the business offered much more than innocent massages. Neighbors near the Lilac Spa suspected — and, in some cases, knew — the parlor’s employees were sex workers, police said. This week, after a two-month police investigation by two agencies, two spa employees were arrested.
15-year-old boy killed in Syracuse shooting: A person shot to death Wednesday evening near the Onondaga Creekwalk in Syracuse was a 15-year-old boy. It was the city’s 12th homicide of the year. Four of the victims have been children.
Concerts are back: Blues Fest comes to the fairgrounds: The New York State Blues Festival is reintroducing Syracuse to “normal” concert experiences. Thursday’s opening night of the three-day fest was the first major music event in Central New York since the state lifted most remaining Covid-19 restrictions last week. The event continues tonight and Saturday.
