I have one hairless rat that is an adult and I decided to get him a friend as i know that they shouldn't be kept alone. After introducing them on mutual ground my larger rat scratched the new, younger rat with his claws by accident whilst investigating, the rats were left on the mutual ground and a I turned my back I heard a loud squeak, yet when i turned around neither of the rats seemed to have moved (older rat leaning on top of younger rat) although when (a few minutes later) I took the younger new rat out of the 'meeting' I noticed that there was quite a deep cut on his belly that was bleeding a little bit. When i say 'deep' I mean in relation to the rats size. My older rat is very docile so was this an accident and am I still able to keep introducing the rats and put them in the same cage in a day or two or shall I give up? Also, what shall I do about the cut on the rats belly? Thanks for any help.
p.s Both rats are hairless and the young rat also seems quite docile and is very easily handled.
