indulgence evenings

Where can I find out when and where these evenings are on.

I reaaly want to offer reflexology and IHM but don't seem to be able to find out where any of them are being held. I'm getting nowhere with my advertising so I really need to get out there and show what I can do.

Contact local schools and clubs they often have pamper evenings etc although the summer months dont normally see that many of them....keep an eye out on roundabouts for signs of fairs etc. Trawl through google for events that may be happening near you...using different keywords for your evening...and if you still feel like you are not getting anywhere, arrange one yourself!!!!!!!!!

Do you know any other therapists in your area that does them that can put your name forward?
I have been going to indulgences for about 6 years now. You tend to find that the organisers (expecially the school PTA ones) have a list of stall holders that gets passed from PTA to PTA, meaning that it is sometimes hard for new therapists to 'break in'.
It's just getting to the end of the indulgence season. They tend to run in late September and October, then again from January until April or May.
Might be an idea to try to get a stall doing short IHM treatments at your nearest primary school's summer fair - expecially if you have a gazebo. This usually goes down well and would get your name down for any indulgences they are holding in the future.

sorry i've taken ages to get back to you but we bought a new computer and i have to fight my husband to get on it!!!!

Thanks for the advice, i have done lots of searches but had no luck until recently I went through all the local school websites, took ages but I did find one event, I just assumed they were held at the summer time along with all the craft fairs.

I went to a craft fair myself last weekend and picked up a leaflet about future events so am trying to get in touch with the organisers.

I'm just feeling a bit fed up and lacking confidence as my efforts so far have got me nowhere although when I did get a call on my answerphone last week about reflexology I panicked and didn't want to call them back as I was too scared.

Turned out to be someone trying to sell me advertising. Very disappointing!!!


I have been looking on the business and marketing forum though and got some brilliant ideas for how to present yourself at these events so when I do finally manage to do one I should be prepared.

Hi tid,

it's hard to register yourself with school PTA, if you dont have child attending to that school, you metion you looked at school site, well My children PTA, are not in the school website, but we are having pampaering evening in June, where you have to pay for a pitch, it's good idea if you have friends who has children in primary school to ask them to get you the telephone number of chairwoman or the member of PTA number where you can call them. hope this help you, and if live you close where i do live PM me and i give you the detail of my school.
