Limit on the amount of comments in a thread ?

Unless posting pictures (and even then it is bad), can we not keep a limit to the amount of comments on a thread ? anyting over 20 pages seems a bit of overkill ?

Nah. The more comments, the better. As long as it pertains to the subject. If the comments falls off the rails, and the insults starts to fly, then yes.

Agreed. We should all try to stick to the subject of our shared interest, ignoring comments which are clearly designed to foment discord or push ulterior agendas, and above all remain civil amongst our hobby brotherhood. We don't have to agree with all of each others' opinions, but credible info and positive contributions should not be discouraged.

I guess I should clarify and maybe that is where the proper section use should come in, but I see 100+ pages on simply an over and over advertising for a spa and not actual reviews and helpful information. and they keep coming to the top of the list each day. I like the Crazy Babes picture thread and the odd thread that has some good debate, but once over so many pages, nobody is going back to read them all.
This does not take away freedom of speech in any way, just cleans up the site in an easy fashion, or put a filter on to REVIEWS but I thought there was a spot for ads and for reviews already ? Stick to it.

The board is unmoderated, so people are going to post wherever they can get the most views and reaction, especially spammers and trolls. You'll have to moderate it yourself. Just put all the useless accounts on ignore: spammers, trolls, people who only post stupid shit, etc.

...but just click poster name, ignore... POOF! Gone.

Risk? They might start posting interesting stuff ... u miss it...

I agree. We do not need to reduce access to the free-wheeling nature of this forum. I would suggest any attempt to do so could also risk stifling the quantity of useful content. Once we create profiles the ignore button is pretty easy to use. I have made liberal use of it since almost falling into the flame war trap that the known trolls set, and my blood pressure has calmed considerably as a result. It's pretty easy to learn which threads are fruitful to read and which members are reliable contributors. Vayan con paz, amigos.

Somehow everyone thinks that they lose freedom of speech, not one bit, but do get a spa advertising every day and filling up threads,, BUT I will try this ignore feature out and see if that gets rid of the useless posts..........thanks !!!
