Mark Strong Sr., the man convicted of helping to run a prostitution business out of a southern Maine Zumba studio more than a decade ago, has been summonsed along with 10 other men for allegedly engaging a person for prostitution out of a massage parlor in Rockland.
Rockland police raided Asian Massage in December 2024, based on suspected sex trafficking, the department said in a statement Monday.
The business had previously been located on Route 1 in Waldoboro, where the telephone number was linked to a New York address known for human trafficking, according to court documents reported by the Midcoast Villager. At the time of the raid, it had moved to a leased space at 193 Park St. in Rockland.
Police allegedly interviewed a number of patrons who said they had received a variety of sexual services. A Chinese woman and a patron were present at the time of the raid, and court documents cited by the Villager refer to another woman. Rockland police conducted surveillance and said in an affidavit that the women rarely left the massage parlor.
The men summonsed for criminal engaging a person for prostitution are: Strong, 69, of Thomaston; Richard Generazio, 64, of Owls Head; Christopher Mitchell, 41, of Lincolnville; Christopher Felicetti, 62, of Washington; Bruce Liljegren, 78, of Thomaston; Randy Bouchard, 62, of South Thomaston; Michael Graves, 65, of Rockport; William Heiden, 39, of Rockland; Joseph Cady, 50, of Palermo; Neal Shepard, 71, of Cushing; and Stanley Carlton, 65, of Owls Head.
Rockland police released the names on Monday and said the continued investigation has included numerous interviews and several search warrants for DNA evidence. Additional charges may be coming, the department said.
In 2013, Mark Strong Sr. served 20 days in jail after being convicted on 12 counts related to helping part-time fitness instructor Alexis Wright run a prostitution business out of her Kennebunk Zumba studio.
