Massage party!

Since we're in between office spaces, obviously business is "not so good" right now. We just got a call from a longtime client, who lives ~ an hour away. She's also a "Saturday-only" client, and the reason we're not stopping Saturday availability altogether. She has 4, maybe 6 people who want to get together for a "Massage Party" at her house next Saturday! Since we have two tables, and she has a large living room, it can work well-- just be like doing 3 couples' massages in a row. It'll be an all-day event, between getting there and back and the working time. But oh, boy!! Income!!!

Awesome! Sounds like fun!

I went to a party a few months ago and did chair massage. It was really great. I had fun too! I think it can work out really well, especially in a setting like that because people are already happy and having a good time.

The client called just a few minutes after I posted to confirm: she does indeed have three others besides herself secured, and two more "may" be coming too (she'll let me know tomorrow). One is pregnant, but I don't think she's far enough along for me to worry about bringing my body cushion set (thought I may bring it anyway). All we have to do now is figure out how to get BOTH tables in our van. I think for this one, we will definitely have to take our the little guy's car seat (I hate taking it out of the van b/c it's so hard to get buckled back in tightly enough-- I have to get DS20 to do it for me).

And it's not exactly "a party we're going to do massages at"; she's just getting together a group of people to get massages at her house on the same day. We're all kinda hoping (DH, the client, and I) that the others might decide to make this a regular monthly thing. As much as we don't like doing outcalls, a regular gig like this could be good! (we're not charging more for the outcall since she has so many lined up, so accounting for the gas and time we'd be "losing" a little by doing this; but if it works out to regular, it'd be clients we wouldn't otherwise see in the office, so worth it)
