Ok, so this is the first time i get a job and the income will be 40,000 a year (or 3333.33 monthly).
I currently live in oregon and I was wondering how much money I will have in my pocket after all taxes have been deducted.
I'm trying to calculate in order to find a reasonable space to live in and see if I can actually afford it.
I know that oregon state income tax is 9%... added to that is the federal income tax that is 25% for my tax bracket. In total, it would be 31% of my total income that would get deducted? That would leave me with 27600 a year or 2,300 a month. Is that correct?
Thank you so much for your time!
I just did that paycheck calculator from paycheck city.com and it totaled to a net pay of:
$2,407.57
