Hi there everyone,
I've just joined this forum after reading lots of your entries. I'm an Aussie who has relocated to NE Scotland with my English husband and am looking to start a small aromatherapy business.
As I have done in Australia previously, I plan to sell my own lotions, hydrolats, shampoos etc using only natural plant materials and essential oils online, through aromatherapy parties and in local shops.
I've been doing a bit of research though and have come across some info that states that all 'cosmetic products'sold within the EU must be certified by cosmetic chemists in the UK as this is a safety assessment requirement. Can anyone tell me, does this relate to natural aromatherapy products? Would I need to do this, and if yes, how do I go about it? Or would I just have to ensure that my supplier has their products certified before I purchase them?
Many thanks for any information or advice as it all sounds like a bit of a legal mindfield to me.
Cheers,
Kate
