Oils to replace cigarette smoke odour

Hi All

My friend is trying to quit smoking, she doesn't want to be rude and ban guests from smoking in her home or car.


Could you please let me know if you have any favourite blends or oils which she could use to replace the smoke odour?

Why would she think she is being rude to ask people not to smoke around her? You can't smoke in taxi's nowadays, so why should a private car be any different? We have a constant stream of visitors, and none of them smoke in our home - no one even asks these days - strange how life has changed!

My daughter lived with a 'smoker' when she was away at Uni. She used orange oil in a diffuser which helped a bit, but not much. I'm very interested in what the aromatherapists are going to recommend...

I believe that cedar is in the anti-tobacco candles but not sure,I am interested what other HP members have to offer,I suppose good old Febreeze might help if nothing else.I would never allow anyone to smoke on my premises even though I smoke myself.

tell her try burning Bakhoor Arabic incense in a special metal burner on a small piece of coal, this stuff last for days in the air and covers pretty much everything, is so amazing especial if it has Oudh chips mixed in it.

Lavender and Mandarin are oils that come to mind..

A fair amount of research - chiefly by Rose & Behm - suggesting that black pepper essential oil in inhalations is very beneficial in assisting people to quit smoking.

Suggest to her a blend of 3 drops each: black pepper, peppermint and cedar wood (or pine) in a burner

equally, she could just place these on a tissue paper and leave about the house

she doesnt have to "be rude" in asking her guests not to smoke in her home or car, all she has to do is ask her friends/guests to support her in her efforts not to start smoking again by not smoking around her

her home and her car, her rules, nobody would mind in the slightest
