SEATTLE - Seattle Police are looking for the two men they say shot a woman during a robbery at a massage parlor.
Police say they responded to a report of a robbery in the 600 block of South Jackson Street around midnight.
This location is about six blocks away from where investigators found the suspect in a series of random stabbings happening in the Chinatown-International District less than two weeks ago.
In this most recent violent incident, police say a woman was helping her friend close a massage parlor around midnight when two masked men ran up on the women and pulled a gun on them.
"When that occurred, the suspects forced their way into the business," said Detective Eric Muรฑoz. "Approximately $1,000 was stolen from the business. The suspects also stole her cellphone, and they kept demanding more money, demanding more money," he added.
Muรฑoz said when the victim could not produce more cash, the suspect shot her, then shot the surveillance system and fled the scene on foot.
The woman was shot in the stomach.
Medics with the Seattle Fire Department treated the woman at the scene and took her to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
SPD said the suspects are men, but do not have any other information.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the violent crimes tip line at 206-233-5000.
Muรฑoz told FOX 13 that SPD has emphasis patrols in the area where the shooting happened.
"We call this the downtown activation zone. We have our east and west precinct officers. We have multiple additional patrols throughout the day targeting the violence and the crime that occurs in this area," said Muรฑoz.
