NEWBURGH, Ind. (WFIE) - One person has been arrested following prostitution complaints at a Newburgh massage parlor.
That’s according to the Warrick County Sheriff’s Office.
Our 14 News crew was on scene at Rainbow Massage on State Road 261 where law enforcement performed a sting operation.
Sheriff Michael Wilder says that person is facing charges for prostitution and promoting prostitution.
We’re told the sheriff’s office is asking the FBI to investigate this case as potentially something bigger.
Sheriff Wilder says it’s possible the suspect is actually a victim of sex trafficking.
“We’re really more interested in this case on the sexual trafficking side of it, as we are the prostitution,” he says. “Don’t get me wrong, we’re out to do both. We don’t want prostitution in our community, but we’re also very aware that the female here could be a victim herself.”
We are working to learn more and will update this story as more information becomes available.
