I normally book my massages ahead of time with the MPA of my choice.

Do you prefer to pre-book a time with a specific MPA or do you prefer the thrill of walking in and seeing who is available?

It depends on the kind of mood I'm in.
If I feel like seeing someone in particular, I will book an appointment to avoid being disappointed. This is especially true for the busier/more popular girls.
If I'm just in the mood for a bit of random fun, I'll take my chances as a walk-in.
That's when some of the best adventures take place. The edginess of the unknown and sometimes finding a real gem.

I prefer just to walk in hoping I don't run in a disaster.after a bad visit I go back to pre booking for a bit until I get the last walk in out of my head.....then I go back to walk in.

Thats a weird theory...because at every 'lower-tier' (as you call it) MP I've ever worked at, the gems are booked and busy...so why does the fanciness of the spa dictate the quality/availability of the best girls?? Not a fair yard stick if you ask me!!!

Anyway, personally, I prefer appointments. Allows me to pace my day, know whats what, who's who, and what I'll be getting myself into that day!

I guess my issue is this:

- what makes you think that a spa with no site or less flashy ads means lower volume?? Thats simply not the case!! I know girls that work at a-tier spas that see 3 clients a day...i know girls at 2nd-tier spas that are booked solid for 3 shifts ahead!
- reviews are about the girls, not the spas...there are MANY reviews about girls that work at other places than SRM/Allure/HFH/Plats
-the only difference in those places and other places is the $$ spent on the tiles and pictures on the walls, and maybe licensing, but that is irrelevant to a client.
- enticing pics...you means the ones guys complain about are over air-brushed, misleading, and able to bait-and-switch with?? right...that helps! lol

now, im soooo not picking on you, its just that my angle is different. In fact, you last sentance sums up your point...you have to TOFTT when hunting an UNDISCOVERED gem!

I dont know...When I have worked with 5+ girls...there is always someone who sees 0, 1 or 2 clients....in a place with 2-3 girls, everyone is busy. My personal record of clients in a day...with me and one other girl working! All my examples I could list would give away who I am...but lets use common-knowledge examples...I have known girls in 'lower-tier' 'hole-in-the-wall' spas that book up MORE than the old HFH gems! (Cameron, Tarah, etc!) Faster than Christina @ SRM! Faster than Paris in her hay-days! The walls we work in have NOTHING to do with the quality within them!!

well then u are going to the WRONG places!!! hence....massageplanet.net! There are TONS of massageplanet.netites that dont go to the top 4 places...that love the middle ground. TONS of gems in the mix, and lots of reviews to make sure your time and money isnt wasted...

DONT give up on the hobby, just gain focus....re-evaluate your selection process and your satisfaction scale will rise!!

Do not dispair! Go to an SC. I spent 3 hours earlier this week with a new dancer friend. We exchanged text messages during the day and met at the club later that night. She did 7 "high intensity" dances (I paid for 5) and we cuddled (she naked of course) for another 3 songs afterward. Didn't even have to buy her a drink. She wants to meet off premises next time to "carry on our conversation".

For the most part I pre-book to avoid "disappointment..."

Sometimes I've checked the online schedule and honestly couldn't decide between MPA A or MPA B. I've let FATE decide by seeing whoever's FREE upon my arrival. If both girls are busy then I take the first available.

In response to the other observations RE: gems in the less well known spas.

OF COURSE there gems out there! Don't think for a MINUTE all the best MPA's work at the best known 4 MP's. The perfect examples were Maya and Cindy at A & R or Ashley @ S9. Maya sometimes saw 8 or 10 clients in a double shift. Angelo (owner) himself told me that.

Right now Kim & Sara at Studio 9 are both good little MPA's... IMO Kim is close to Lynn @ SRM in terms of looks too.

Anyway, as MPA2 has pointed out, if you open your mind, fantastic MPA's can be found all over the city

I'm a firm believer that each man must find his own favourite dancer(s). With dancers it is so much YMMV. The first time I saw this particular dancer, she approached every guy in the bar EXCEPT ME. I finally got out of my chair and had to track her down.

In my years of visiting massageries I never went to the oft repeated top locales. In fact, I've never once been to any of them.

Within other slideries I met sliders that I both would not repeat and the so called gems that I repeated numerous times.

Cecelia wasn't on, so I was introduced to dread Brooke. I visited dread Brooke for years, what a gem; I liked her. Same with whatshername, you know, you lovehate her, but irrelevant as she's retired.

Upon "discovering" these gems, yes, I always phoned ahead and inquired about booking times. Now, the phone person, that's another story.

My business trips to Toronto are only a couple a year, so I like to check schedules and reviews and attempt to make decisions prior to coming. However, if my preferreds are not on schedule during my trips, I research reviews based on schedule, and try to make appointments. However, I believe I end up half the time as a walk in since my work schedule varies, and often find myself with an hour or so free at a time i didn't expect. Bottom line - try to make appointments, but often can't. I have stuck with the top spa's based on reviews because have not really ever been dissapointed with a walk in.

If the slide is heading downhill, can you cut the session short and simply pay for actual time spent? Let say you booked for an hour but you want to stop at 30 minutes, can you call a halt?

I always book ahead. Otherwise, I won't get a session as my favourite MPA's can get booked up so the probability of them being available for a walk-in is virtually nil. If I saw some other MPA then that potentially opens up the jealousy factor. If I leave, I've wasted time and gas with nothing to show for it.

Even if you go to the non-Tier 1 spas or see the most commonly and highly reviewed ladies it's in your best interest to book ahead. Alphacare used to just stick you with whomever is available. This would typically be the least busy girl and those are the ones who are the least busiest for a reason. I remember years back when I first started how some places (Asian) would parade one girl out at a time and asked if you wanted to stay. These would also be the least busiest girls. You had to keep asking to see who else is available and the last one brought out would usually be the best. Mamasan would get frustrated but you had to be man enough to say no in order to get to the real gems & beauties.

By booking ahead you are in control. Your timeslot is mostly guaranteed (except for weather or illness causing delays) and you weren't pressured into making an on-the-spot decision that you may regret later.

I always book ahead to avoid disappointment. If the girls I like are not available I will rely heavily on massageplanet.net or skip and save the coin. Had many sub-par sessions early in my hobbying career. Haven't been disappointed for some time now.
