I don't agree. I was a referee in my younger days and while Mr. Webb made a few errors, the Dutch strategy seemed to be to go out and kick, trip and grab to stop Spain playing. Most were clear fouls and unfortunately, most of the yellow cards were justified. It was a risky plan and I was really hoping Holland would play the way they did for most of the tournament. It would have made for a much better game. But they did not and the better team won. In my opinion, it was a victory for football.
PS: I was actually rooting for Holland because they had come close twice before and have produced so many fantastic players in the past.
