I'm sure this is widely known and unspoken of, but there's a huge plaza strip at Leslie/Hwy 7 filled with tons of massage parlors that provide prostitution services.
I've been secretly investigating this area for the past 11 months with undercover cameras and have loads of information and video clips. I've also "be-friended" and secretly recorded conversations with several of the service providers and the owners to understand more about the business and operations and logistics. And I've also managed to get my hands on a pile of insurance RMT receipts (and some acupuncture ones) that are demonstrably cases of insurance fraud with the names of all the "Johns" involved (many of which I've cross-checked on LinkedIn that work in various tech companies around the area such as AMD, Qualcomm, Huawei, and IBM).
Now, what kind of information have I gathered you might be asking:
- There are quite a few massage parlors in this plaza and also some that aren't advertised at all (they are found through various "hidden" entrances). There's also a few more within 5-10 minutes drive in various other plazas. Some of the names are: VIP Spa, VVIP Spa, OMG Spa, Love Spa, QQ Spa, La Monny Spa, 1+1 Spa, Honey Spa, Angel Spa, Hello Spa, Pink Spa, LV Spa, etc.
- These spas employ women that are mainly from China who speak very little english and mostly mandarin. Some are from HK and can speak cantonese. The majority of them are "on loan" to the owners from China (ie. trafficked) for anywhere from $5000- $10 000 for 3 months of service to upwards of a year.
- The fees that are charged are $40 for 30 mins, $60 for 45 mins, and $80 for 1 hour (these are just room fees).
- You will "usually" get an actual massage that could range from amateur to professional. However, at some point during the session (usually the latter half), you will be asked to flip over and they will ask you what kind of services you want. The standard rates are $60 for a handjob (and they undress), $80 for a bodyslide, $100 for a blowjob, $120 for full service (sex). Some provide additional services for an extra charge (ie. anal sex, swallowing, facial, etc.). These charges go directly to the service provider and not the owner.
- Depending on the spa, some service providers actually had to get a "loan" from their real "owners" back in China to be able to travel and work in these specific spas. Therefore, a portion of the "tips" they make go into the pocket of the devious owners in China to pay down the "loan".
- Alot of these service providers are enrolled in various English teaching centres as students. You may have noticed these spas are usually situated next to foreign exchange teaching centres. These allow the providers to stay in Canada for a much longer period and not kicked back out to China.
- Some of these spas have residential living quarters upstairs that house upwards of 10 women. In the times I've been up there, it looks fairly well cleaned but still very well a prison. I don't have videos of these areas unfortunately as it would have been too obvious.
- There are 6 spas in this plaza alone that are owned by a single female owner. I won't name her here directly, but she does show up in my videos. This female owner used to provide services herself but has since stopped and just collects the room fee money from each of these spas every day.
- Cops do occasionally stop around this area, but I have personally never seen them do anything other than park right outside these areas. These are those semi-hidden cop cars that have the transparent logos. They really only work as a deterrent when they are around, nothing else.
- Some of these women aren't trafficked/loaned and are actual students from various colleges around Toronto. However, they also provide prostitution services outside of their regular spa working hours from various condos (mostly from the ones on Highway 7 and Warden).
- The insurance slips are tied with various licensed RMT/acupuncture providers who get a small cut of the fee. Requesting a receipt is an extra charge on top of the room fee.
- There are shamelessly (at least) hundreds of unique receipts from Johns that work at the tech companies mentioned above. For the ones that have Facebook, I have found a large portion of them are married with children.
- I have no proof that any service providers were underage as I wasn't able to gather their real ages (except for 4 of them which showed me their drivers license and they were all 20-25). But I have an inkling feeling at least a few were.
- I never received any "additional" service and the way I got around this was that I paid them extra "tips" to just chatting dirty with me instead while massaging me. I told them (in their native language, I speak both Cantonese and Mandarin) that I don't do extra services "anymore" due to a medical reason but that I still enjoy sexual talk during the massage (ie. teasing). If I didn't do this, it would raise suspicion as to who or what I was doing.
- I will however cleanly admit that the first few times (I believe 5 times) I did get extra services as I was young and curious. Ever since then, I have visited nearly 100 times gathering information and befriending many of them (though, a large portion of them have already moved back to China but I still have their WeChat handles).
- My camera was hidden in my jacket which I would hang up making sure to point it at the target. The incriminating recordings are when they provide me their "menu" of services, I falsely "accept", but change my mind as soon as they start touching me. That is where I switch over to asking to "chat" instead but pay the same amount.
- As to how I got the insurance slips, it happened by chance. One time I was told to sort through a bundle of slips to look for mine and the owner leaves the room to take a phone call. I quickly pointed my jacket camera at the pile and go through them one by one getting them on camera.
- Footage also shows wastebaskets packed with used condoms (I did not touch them, just opening them and you could see it). I was tempted to collect samples but I thought doing that would be going too far.
- I spent nearly $10k gathering all of this out of my own pocket.
I would like to somehow proceed forward with this investigation information by providing all of this to the media. However, I'm not sure how I can safely do this as I fear for my safety should word get out that I'm the "snitch". Does anyone have any suggestions what I can do to put an end to this unspoken criminal activity taking place right underneath our noses? I believe that all the videos, audio, and documents I have are sufficient evidence to effectively wipe out all the things going on around that area (and a few others).
