Hiya all
After recently qualifying in reflexology I had a booking for a pamper party. There were 11 ladies and 2 wanted IHM and 2 wanted Reflexology - the others were having various other massages and pedicures too by another lady.
To prevent nerves and my mind going blank i bought a laminator from a very well known supermarket for £11.99 and it contained laminating sheets within the pack. I typed up the basic steps such as
Pituitary
Pineal
Back of head
neck
sinuses
etc
etc
and typed it for the right foot and the left foot and then the dorsal and plantar regions with the pre massage and the post massage techniques too just in case I had a mind blank.
I did not have to refer to it often but when the client spoke to me about something completely unrelated to reflexology I just quickly looked at the note on an A4 piece of paper just to reassure me what was next so i did not miss anything out and it put me at ease straight away.
They did not even know it was there only I did. I had it next to my notes where I was making little notes of any areas that were swollen, crystalised etc......of which I told them at the beginning. They were completely oblivious to it.
I just laminated the A4 sheet of paper and Bingo.
It was a success.
Try it at least you then know if you need it as a back up until you know it completely off by heart it is there. I had nothing in front of me for my exam which goes without saying of course you need to memorise it but when sometimes you have a chatty client it can put you off when you first start.
Hope that is of help to newbies like me !
