Hi all,
First, thanks for this forum and all of you that prepared me for this experience. It was how you described it, yet something much more profound.
First, the Mai Tai bar was a big suprise. I was expecting this big place with all these people. Instead, it is one of the tiny little beer bars. I had a hard time finding it at first. Still, very nice people.
The women are beyond what I expected. I traveled alone and was there for 5 days. Spent extended time with three beautiful women. Really hard to describe the experience. Maybe the most amazing part, is just the warmth of these women, beyond their beauty. I really felt like I was just on a date with a beautiful woman, not buying some service. I may be fatally addicted to the beauty of Thai women, as well as their charm. I can't seem to find anyone at home that compares, including the above warmth. I usually spend far more money on a two hour date with an american woman than what I paid for the whole night with these girls. And this was much more fun!
Being from the US, and prices seemed very reasonable, both for entertainment, food and lodging, even with our sagging dollar. If you can get there, it really is a great way to escape modern society. I stayed down at the Hilton in Karon Beach. I really liked the choice. Beautiful resort far enough away from the madness of Patong, yet an easy ride when I wanted something more. Actually, maybe the best of the three women was discovered at a little beer bar in Karon. I should have spent more time with her. Don't overlook the little hidden places. There seem to be beautiful women everywhere. Cost for the girls was 1500B and I didn't even negotiate. Two of the girls claimed to have just arrived and seemed very innocent. Although I know you will suspect it is a story, everything they told seemed authentic. Maybe I can pick the innocent ones or maybe they are good sales people?
This was mid-May so the weather was hot. Almost too hot for me at times. I tended to hide out during the mid-afternoon and then get out as the sunset hit. I was getting used to the heat and humidity just about the time I had to leave. Next trip I need like two weeks, not 5 days. Even so, I sort of enjoyed low season. Lots and lots of girls. Nothing was crazy busy. Hilton gave me great service. And they have beautiful women working there, although not working girls (as far as I know).
Sometimes the language barriers (English) were a frustration. At first it was fun to communicate with broken sentences. Late at night it was more of a burden. I'm guessing that my choice of some young innocent types might have made that worse. I was tempted to spend the whole vacation with one of the girls. Maybe should have done that, but I wanted to experience a bit more on this trip.
I did fall into a trap the first night of buying drinks at a little beer place near the bathrooms on Soi Eric. Completely beautiful girl. I stayed there far too long sort of mezmerized by her. Finally she told me she had a boyfriend and tried to get me to go with her girlfriend. Sort of a bait and switch routine I guess. It was still fun, but I felt a bit like I was being a bit used by her. Live and learn...
I budgeted about $200 a day for fun, massages, girls, beers, food, taxi's, etc. I actually came home with cash. Can't complain about that. During the hot season, I suggest using the taxi's rather than the Tuk-Tuk. Was surprised the price was the same.
Did I mention the beautiful girls? It has me seriously wondering if Thai women are in fact the most beautiful women in the world? I have been to China, India, Singapore, and many parts of Europe and I haven't seen such consistency. I seem to have a serious case of addiction here. I will be in Hong Kong later this summer. Will they compare?
Well, I might add some more comments later. Just wanted to finally add something to the forum here.
