The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation issued a six-month emergency closure order effective Sept. 16
BURLESON, Texas โ Two Burleson massage establishments, Top A-Massage and Best Massage, were closed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the agency said in a press release.
The department issued a six-month emergency closure order effective Sept. 16 for the two establishments and their owners, the release states.
Top A-Massage, located at 344 SW Wilshire Blvd., Suite T and its owner Cai Wei Evans were suspected of housing employees in the establishment, which is against state law, the release states. An investigator found that women were wearing lingerie in the establishment and a room was set up as sleeping quarters for two people, the release states.
The department received a consumer complaint that Best Massage, located at 333 NW Hillery St. and its owner Huili Dai were offering sexual services to customers, the release states. Investigators found that the massage parlor was advertised on several illicit websites and evidence that the staff lived at the establishment, according to the release.
A law, which went into effect last year, gives the department authority to immediately halt operations of a massage establishment if sex trafficking is suspected there, the release states. These orders are the ninth and 10th emergency orders issued by TDLR since the law went into effect, officials said.
