Ok this is my bitch for the day.
I have recently seen a few posts indicating guys are doing walk-ins at smaller size spas that don't have a receptionist.
Its not hard to pick up a phone and request an appointment ... requested time and with ??
When walk-ins happen at these smaller spas it really fucks up a good session that is in process when the MT has to leave the room to tell you to make an appointment.
FFS, would you walk into a dentist office without an appointment? Everyone has a phone....use it. They will get back to you when they are out of a session.

I guess a sign on the door would also help. "Call Phone Number xxxx to make an appointment, we value our clients time"

I prefer going as a walk-in, but thanks for the instructions. It is up to them to get a receptionist, not for me to have to make an appointment to accommodate other customers.
You pick an example like a dentist, a business that normally REQIURES customers to make an appointment (not their customers telling me I need to).
I can give you tons of examples where you do not need to make appointments. And just to prove you wrong, I worked in a building that had a dentist. Had a wicked tooth ache and walked n and asked if they could see me right away. They DID, so kinda shoots that example all to hell.

They can always lock the door and put a sign up saying come back at ??? o'clock.

I split the difference by doing “walk-in appointments,” by that I mean I text a place I’m close to and ask who is available right away, so I don’t need to wait but also don’t show up for nothing.

I agree- that is very annoying. But, unfortunately SP's care more about not missing a client than they do about the client in the room. If they cared about the client in the room they would just lock the door and hang a sign "All our therapists are busy. Please call and we will get right back to you." I have never not had a return call- usually at the top of the hour after they finish with a client. The only time I've walked in was when I had other business to attend to.

Yes, phones seem to work for some reason. I agree with the sign on the door .... next available appointment xxx: o-clock. It can even be one of those cheep manual hand door sign clocks. Put a sticker on it with next available appointment.....


A simple computer monitor screen with available massage times would be better.

Budget for labour, historic foot traffic, typical business volume, tech know how, money for such tech all play a factor. Best only do walk ins if the ads says Walk Ins Welcome and it's a larger establishment with receptionist. Otherwise do everyone a favour by doing a courtesy of appointments so it's manageable by the lady, and we the client enjoy the session. Hard to get fully into the session and remove all inhibitions without worrying about a walk in like a body slide in the menu!

I make appointments always and go to places where the therapists do not leave to answer the door or check their phones.

Bitching doesn’t help and won’t change anything for those places that choose to disrupt a paying customers experience to talk with a walk in

I love how people on here love to label me an ass when I point out the stupidity of certain arguments but here goes again.
If there is no receptionist and all ladies are working on clients, I am disrupting your massage if she leaves you to answer the door (which you say is my fault, not her's).
So, you want me to call first to make an appointment BUT...
If I call at that same moment instead of walking in and she stops your massage to answer my call, you are OK with that ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!]
How fuckin logical is that?

You guys are constantly bitching about ladies texting while doing your massage so the problems is not me walking in (or calling).
The problem is that they need to hire a RECEPTIONist to receive (be it people or calls) and a MASSAGE lady to massage, NOT a massage lady to receive people or a receptionist to massager people.

It can't get much simpler than that folks. If I want to see a particular lady at a particular time, I will make an appointment but other than that, sorry (not) I will continue to go as a walk-in if that is more convenient for me. Im sure you are not going to adjust the way you do things to accommodate me.

I might also add, If the dentist is busy pulling a tooth when I call to make an appointment, I do not leave a message and get a call back from the dentist asking me when I'd like to come in.
He has a RECEPTIONIST for that.

Furthermore, when I arrive at the appointed time, it is not the dentist that comes to greet me at the door or front desk, and then take me back ti his chair.
He has a RECEPTIONIST / ASSISTANT for that.

Maybe next time try using an example that makes even a little bit of sense, but more importantly, try to understand that one business model does not work for ALL businesses.

These boards remind me of people who call in to radio talk shows. They have nothing intelligent to say. They just want to hear themselves on the radio despite how stupid the verbal diarrhea they spew forth is.

I’ll get to the point. The shops that run obscure ads with names of various therapists and one can’t really be sure as to whom one is booking with .. I will do a walk in. Meet and greet and decide. Stay or walk out. If I can’t meet the therapist who might treat me, I walk out.

On the other hand, If it’s a therapist I know and I trust the shop’s bookings, phone or online, then a walk-in is unnecessary.

Good Evening gentlemen. After following this post I thought "hey", I havn't burned a little gas and did a few walk-ins since prior to covid.
Had some errands to run so I thought, may as well pop into a few AMPs. Here is a quick rundown of what I encountered. I won't mention the names or detailed descriptions of the ladies I met, but I will pass that information along in a DM.
First place I checked out was Tokyo spa. Hadn't been here in years and I forgot how many stairs to reach the top floor. Stairway to Heaven? Oh, I'm sure for some!!!!
I met a 30ish Chinese lady, she looked good and was very pleasant. Gave me a hug and we grinded our loins for a few seconds. There were other ladies there but didn't introduce me to anyone else. Right at the entrance she gave me price and I said I would call to ask for her specifically. She looked like the picture on their website.
2nd place was Wild Rose Spa. There you go down a long flight of stairs. Again, only met the chinese lady that greeted me at the door. She took me into a room and her hands were checking our my buns as we walked. She was in her 20's and very busty. Natural or enhanced? Good question, have to free the puppies from her flimsy top for closer inspection. I asked her name and she gave me about 4. Ha!
The last place I checked out was Paradise Spa studio on 118 Ave and 65 street. A Chinese lady met me at the door in a white bathrobe. I probably passed the fellow that just did the deed with her at the backdoor. This place was the busiest. Door alarm dinging and lots of activity. The robed lady put me in a room and I met a Japanese? lady in her 20's. Very slim and tall. Didn't catch her name when she mumbled it but was very open about her offerings.
In my summary, the lady at Tokyo spa would have been my choice this day. All prices were the same between these AMPS and didn't see anyone auntie age. It seemed the lady that came to greet you was the one that was next up? Unless you asked for someone specific. Sorry for a long winded post. But trying to be as detailed as best as possible.

A sign, saying "busy with client", or "booked for the night"....and I move on. Simple opinion. Agree or not....or try to convince me I shouldn't do walkins. Don't care if people insult me. Insulting people just drags these stupid fucking threads, on and on with useless debates or childish school ground antics.

Its why I just pop my head into the forums, throw in a few tidbits, and then disappear into the night.
