I don't think this woman should have tried to climb through the window to get into the hallway, but come on! What ever happened to trying to tackle a protester insteading of shooting them? My father was a police officer for 20 years in Toronto and he never shot anyone. He would tackle them, beat them, subdue them and control them. He never shot them. Police officers like the one in this video who shoot people in this predicament show they don't have the physical ability to do anything else and shouldn't be on the job.

If it's OK to shoot protestors, why didn't the police throughout America shoot BLM or Antifa protestors who burned and looted cities many times throughout 2020? Law enforcement can't let Antifa and BLM run free while shooting the first Trump supporter than enters into a hallway in Congress.

At the very least, this officer shouldn't be put back on the job, ever.

Your dad walking around Toronto 40 years ago could reasonably assume most people weren't armed, and had leeway to use less force. Anyone in the USA could by carrying a gun, so cops there see everyone as a potential armed threat and are quick to shoot. Not excusing it, but this is a consequence of living in a society with widespread gun ownership. Isn't that what you want for Canada? Can't have it both ways.

And moments before, Capitol police were taking selfies with those same protestors.

So to assume those protestors are armed is nonsensical.
