As for the hobby, meh, I don't miss it as much as I thought I would. When this pandemic is over, we'll see how hard I hit it.

For me it's usually been more about when I have an opportunity to go where I won't need an alibi as opposed to constantly having to go. Since COVID began there have been fewer opportunities for me to sneak out. COVID risk is so much more immediate and obvious than anything I could have caught and brought home before so I just haven't had as much urge to go. 3 sessions total since it started in March - made the most of each one and I have zero regrets.

Just got a new place recently and I've had to deal with all the headaches (fees, banks, tenants, realtors) that come with it so I haven't really had the chance to partake in the MP world. After cases got so bad last week, I had a gut feeling on Sunday that the next 7 days or less would be our final week of freedom. True enough, Doug Ford hinted at the apocalypse earlier today and I'm glad I spent the last 3 days getting a haircut, having drinks after work and just catching up with old acquaintances. I may finally squeeze in a spa appointment tomorrow and then get drunk some more this weekend for good measure. After that, I put my life on pause until April or May or however long these commie bastards decide to ride this horse shit.

I already told my family I won't celebrate Christmas with them next month and my birthday in January is a no-go. I will save all my money for a long vacation in Florida and Atlanta next year when I resume living my life... whenever that'll be. For now, it's all on hold. It absolutely sucks and I'm pissed off about it but hey, we got fair warning this time around. We were given time to get it all out our system unlike back in March so... take a deep breath gents and then take the plunge. Shutdown is coming. Good luck fellas. I said they should be caned like in Singapore for some crimes. Of course it won’t happen here but the fines are too small to be a deterrent. It was $10,000 each for the organizers and $750 for each attendee. Should have been more like $2,500 an attendee and at least $50,000 for each of the organizers. They should also have their names shared with their employers so the employers could tell them to isolate in order to protect other staff. Some employers might also just fire these morons.

Sorry to hear that. I passed on celebrating Christmas not because it's a potential super spreader. I passed because it's pointless to even do it when the spirit of the season is not there and morale is really low. Xmas is the so-called happiest time of the year but in 2020, most of us are just existing and not truly living for various reasons both related and unrelated to COVID.

As far as incalls go with industry girls, I hope there'll be more options this time around compared to last spring. I'm sure you've gathered a few contacts yourself. Same here although as much as I crave it, I think I can hold off on it for now after having that "final" spa session a few hours ago. I also crammed a haircut and a few drunken gatherings this week which will continue through the weekend. So...you're not wrong, but I think Canada hasn't done the best job of managing this. There's serious disconnects between each body of government, their public health agencies, the advice of doctors, and what individual businesses are prescribing for themselves and their customers/clients. There's also conflicting messaging in the way the government communicates this stuff. "Stay away from each other, but also shop in store, not online" ... "Stop going out, but also, be sure to get out for some fresh air" ... "You should be ashamed of yourself, behaving like everything is normal and hanging out in groups, but also, you're killing the economy, shame on you". With all this in mind, atrocious contact tracing, insufficient quarantine facilities, and unreliable testing, I'm not convinced this is entirely on the average joe being stupid and refusing to physically distance themselves. Lately I think a norm of shaming and engendered guilt is just a way of passing the buck.

I think anything the government is doing is just so that they can say they did something and it isn't their fault people got sick or died. Hate to be so skeptical but they are just covering their asses. Next election they don't want people looking back and saying you did nothing and all those people died, its your fault.

The really stupid ones are the ones going to these weddings and having large gatherings. There's nothing wrong with responsible shopping or even being carefully distant in a restaurant. But events that invite close physical proximity, kissing, hugging, etc, these are stupid.
