I may be wrong and don’t wish to partake in MP drama lol, but I don’t think he has ever said LE is targeting customers.

We understand that bylaw is targeting the spas, that much is clear. But his point stands that given all the attention in EBC lately, it does seem wise to avoid for the time being until things cool off. That said, to each their own, with each person assessing their risk tolerance of course.

What, exactly, are customers avoiding? I guess I don’t get the avoidance over the minute chance of someone knocking on your door and asking you a couple of questions.

Anyone actually go to EBC or RH spas today? I was going to visit but the lady I like at BU was booked for 2 hours and the one I was hoping to see at SL took her scheduled day off.

So can we infer that no by-law visits today to any spas?

It is paranoia to avoid the spas. You are free to avoid it with your own tolerance level, but don’t say that LE is targeting customers since there’s no evidence to support that.

Caught in the middle of what? Suppose a restaurant is getting inspected while you are there? The exact same by-law officers doing similar work.

Starting this thread for members to post any updates regarding by-law issues or visits to RH spas from April 1, onwards. Especially encouraged are any actual sightings of by-law officers or other signs of enforcement.

The aim is to offer as accurate and timely as possible intel for those who are concerned about the situation at the spas they visit. Promoters, owners and members are all invited to share any information that will help spa patrons decide how to respond to the expected changes, and decide based on the best information how to proceed in their own hobbying visits.

Heard rumours that an LE team composed of 8 departments, including police and CRA, visited a spa in Mississauga recently (So, outside RH does not mean completely free of troubles) . However, LE did not cause any problem for clients and the spa business was as usual after the visit. It could be a random inspection case unrelated to RH. Additionally, I heard that LE will soon decide on licensing, but some individuals were told they would not receive a license for sure.

Personally would want to avoid exactly that. When hobbying I’m not exactly trying to draw attention to myself, just want to get in and get out. So the last thing I want is to be talking to bylaw officers or being seen stepping out of a spa with eyes everywhere, especially when I have friends/family that stop by EBC for non spa establishments

When waze or google warns you about police officers up ahead its common sense to slow down or take a different route.

That’s really a false equivalence. The police officer enforcing the HTA can ticket you. Law enforcement has no qualms with the customer.

The risks have been posted above for everyone to see. Just cause they do not apply to you does not mean they do not apply for everybody.

The question is why do you continue to shill for these places when there are dozens of spas 15 minutes away. Do you work there?

Plainly - there is no actual legal risk, just whatever shame you carry for visiting these places. If you have that much shame then maybe you should spend these next few weeks to examine your values and motivations.

The fact is, everyone knows what these spas are, it’s a rub and tug and everyone from their 80 year old grandma to a 16 year old kid will recognize this. With all the recent attention plus potential to bump into people you know, the fear is more of a social stigma than anything. To some, maybe they don’t care but this is on a whole spectrum so we have guys that do care, which makes threads like this helpful for the population as a whole, on MP at least.
