You are right. But think about it. If you were a cop, would you go to a guy who got his car stolen, or arrest a massage parlour attendant? The guy who got his car stolen is pissed and will compain to the cop. A cop who makes an arrest on a MPA will become the hero of the day and the locals will praise the police department. If I was a cop I would much rather hand cuff an MPA chick who weighs 100lbs rather than dealing with a pissed off dude who had his car stolen.

And while arresting the MPA why not cup a feel or two. You are doing your job by searching for dangerous fire arms or narcotics. Hence the hand cuffs.

A CBC video came out after the original article.
It may be that this bust did not involve criminal charges.

How did you conclude that? The reviewer clearly says that "the owner of this spa has been charged with operating a common bawdy house". The reference to the Civil Remedies Act was just in terms of something additional the police said they would use to try to keep the place closed.

Tell you this, it's not everyday Police bust MPs, now stolen cars, they get that more often. did they flip a coin? who the fuck knows. but the odds of them choosing to bust an MP than process a complaint about a stolen car would say 90% vs. 10%. Stolen cars just don't cut it for them nowadays. I'd say if the thief who stole your car drives within the speed limit, he's probably safe for the next 3 days.

The residents just thought it "Christian" to complain to the cops about a business that had an outside door and zero nuisance value.
The rent of this commercial unit may well have subsidized their residential ones
