Ok Boomer. You still don’t get it. There are privacy rights and constitutional laws about the US spying on it’s citizens. Most legal ways involve requiring a warrant if they are within the US or if the citizens are travelling internationally.

Having Tik Tok for his Oligarch buddies was not the question. In fact it is irrelevant. I repeatedly asked you to explain why does the US Government want (or need) 50% ownership and you still cannot answer that. As a 50% owner then they could access that private information and skirt US laws on spying by claiming it is for business needs and as a 50% ownership they have the right to it.

I do read replies of those that I don’t already have on ignore (ie verified rascists). You first responded that it was not spying but never went on to explain how it wasn’t. Then you went on a tangent about how companies collect data for revenue purposes. You keep deflecting though and never answered my question as to why does the government want 50% ownership in a personal data collection social media website if not for the purpose of spying? The US Government does not have ownership stakes in companies today. It is so they have independence in case of legislative actions against companies are needed and to avoid conflicts of interest. So why would a personal data collection company be the first company the US Government owns where it has at leadt a 50% stake? I keep waiting for you to explain that and not about what other companies do as that is irrelevant as when users sign-up they agree to share their data whether they know it or not.
