No, pepper spray is not illegal in Canada. Pepper spray intended for use against humans is illegal. Pepper spray intended for use against animals is legal to purchase and possess. Dog/coyote spray and bear spray (which are different strengths of pepper spray) are both legal in Canada. Context is important, though. If a woman were to carry bear spray to work, that's questionable. But it's perfectly reasonable for a woman who may be afraid of dogs to be in possession of dog spray going to and from work. She told me she had to protect her girl, the woman beater in question complained after a session and wanted money back, while she kept him away from the other lady he started hitting her in the face and body, trying to get by her. But she was able to hold him off and absorbed the brunt of the punishment, he barely got at the other girl, before he ran away. What a brave selfless lady. Ella has always been a genuine sweetheart, but her strength and actions deserve the utmost respect.

Ethnicity wise (several people have asked here and in DMs), he is not Chinese, more than likely middle-eastern or Persian, based on the ladies' experiences. I think he is local to the shop area, so if you see him get license details if you can and DM here.

Have you asked this anonymous source or the mamasan or spa owner for a video? They must have some recording of their main hallways. Before we call to arms a whole bunch of people to exact vigilante justice based on something they don't know all the details of, let's get basic evidence of the crime. Posting some rando's picture with only evidence of crime being some stranger on internet providing hearsay account of someone else we don't know doesn't make for proper evidence. It only takes one idiot to kill the guy in the picture for some vigilante justice just to later realize they didn't know the whole story or worse someone had a beef with the guy and made up a story. I understand we all want to feel like a hero protecting women, let's just make sure there is reasonable evidence before jumping some guy on street trying to play hero.

Based on the stories above, it should be possible to see a video of altercation and video of this guy running away outside the spa. Doesnt need a detective, just the spa owner to release the video to help protect themselves and others. If you are this close to them, maybe try to convince them.

Hey don't rain on the hero parade by demanding evidence especially by non-anonymous sources

I am actually not that close to the lady or spa in question, but someone DMd the info and asked me to post. I did not post until the next day when the incident and photo were posted in the Zen thread. I did however immediately forward the pic to the few shop owners I know and some of the ladies I am close to.

The question of law enforcement is a sticky one. In Aurora in particular there have been council meetings about the licenses for these spas and calls for them to be cancelled. When I spoke to the owner she said she did not want to involve the police and despite telling her the onus would be on the offender, she was still unwilling to move forward on that line. As someone with experiences on both sides of the judicial system, I will say I am not a big fan of the efficacy of police or courts, but that is my own opinion and does not reflect on the lady or why I posted here.

My post here aims to alert the wider community, put some heat on the guy and possibly dissuade him or others by posting their image in cases of violence. There are chats amongst various spa owners but the info reaches the girls or smaller shops less reliably.

As for the "hero parade" (not your comment), I guess that implies that this post is a form of virtue signalling? Or maybe just a shot at me personally, I have detractors on this site for a variety of reasons. I leave the interpretation of my motives to the reader; although I did take time here to try and clear up my reasoning for this thread.

good on you Ambler for the concern into what happened. Not sure if any of the above comments are doubting what exactly went down, but it did. Also spoke to Ella briefly about it.

It did go down, sucks to hear about it, she was a bit battered up from it, but wants to move on for the reasons you stated. it's okay to be upset that something like this went down, deserved anger directed towards this clown, and move on as she wishes. Not sure what all the doubt is about. It is what it is. No one is looking to lead with pitchforks and fire here.

The important piece here isn't to identify the lady or spa in the video but to identify the attacker and see him attacking a defenseless person. The onus here isn't on the lady at all, it's the spa owner who should act more responsibly and help protect their ladies and others by putting in more effort here. What's the point of cameras if you won't be using the recording. It just makes these criminals feel more bold that they can do whatever they want. I can appreciate that the owners don't want to raise this with the police, but how's sharing the video anonymously any different for the spa than sharing the picture anonymously?

A smart government would have made receiving prostitution and any other intimacy sevices legal so the ladies would be protected from exploitation and violence.
