Occasionally it is an unintentional double booking, some of us (I am really bad that way) book direct with the provider (i.e. same time next week) for bookings bypassing the booking service. On more than one occasion, the lady became double booked because of a-holes like me who bypass the process. Normally, the booking service simply sends a text notifying the lady of her upcoming bookings. Straight from the mouth of a regular of mine, had the second booking occur with adequate notices, she would spot the double book and try to deal with it between appointments with the booking service. If the text came from the service too late, the ladies would have to deal with it themselves at the shop. Unfortunately, the regulars always come first when a double happens. Most of the time it is not a matter of who pays more, it is a matter of their imperfect booking process and most ladies' preference for the familiar regulars. When there is no professional management of a shop (taking care of bookings, payments, receipts (if applicable), welcoming clients etc, chances are that these things will occur, and ultimately damage the business. Individual therapists, especially those whose clients can contact them directly live in a world of their own. They are quite wrapped up in the "next client" aspect of their day. So a booking is made. Then if a higher tipping client texts, they go through gyrations to flip the earlier booking to another masseuse. Sadly most guys are wimps and still seek out that therapist again. If you have been a loyal client in the past and this happens, the useful action is to cut off the cash flow to that masseuse. Done. No more. In a few weeks they start texting you

Just to reiterate, my regulars will not cancel existing appointments for me, I have to wait for an opening like everyone else. But if I am already booked from like a week ago, I stay and the other guy goes.
